I am involved with the NOAA ESRL/Global Systems Division's WFO-Advanced project, which largely supports the National Weather Service's Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS) program.

• Born 1953 in Seattle, Washington
• Graduated 1971 Parkrose H.S., Portland, Oregon
• B.A., Physics, 1975, Hanover College, Indiana (a perennial Money Guide Best Buy among small liberal arts colleges, and listed as one of 2009's Best 386 Colleges by The Princeton Review)
• M.S., Atmospheric Science, 1978, Colorado State University

After graduate school, I worked at NCAR for 2 1/2 years, and have been at PROFS/FSL/GSD since November 1980. In the 80s, I worked on satellite image processing, graphics, and various GUI/display concepts. During the early 90s, I was project manager for the AFPS project (since renamed) in the Forecast Systems Lab Modernization Division. Since 1996, I have worked in the Information Systems Branch on AWIPS support, testing, and documentation.
