(2000 photo; I'm the one in the middle.)
I am involved with the NOAA ESRL/Global Systems Division's WFO-Advanced project, which largely supports the National Weather Service's Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS) program.
A brief bio:
After graduate school, I worked at NCAR for 2 1/2 years, and have been at PROFS/FSL/GSD since November 1980. In the 80s, I worked on satellite image processing, graphics, and various GUI/display concepts. During the early 90s, I was project manager for the AFPS project (since renamed) in the Forecast Systems Lab Modernization Division. Since 1996, I have worked in the Information Systems and Evaluation and Decision Systems Branches on AWIPS tools development, support, testing, and documentation.
