S. Kelly, 1997: An Object-Oriented Framework for Local Extensions to the WFO-Advanced Forecaster Display Workstation, D2D. The WFO-Advanced extension framework is an object-oriented interface that makes local extensions possible. Such extensions could enable users to display special kinds of data, interactively locate information in geographic databases, compute storm directions, and more. This paper describes the extension framework, compares it to other types of frameworks, and discusses its future directions. (13th IIPS conference)

The second part describes many of the AFPS edit tools and how they manipulate gridded forecast data. (11th IIPS conference)

S. K. Wier, 1995: Interpolating Between Grids of Meteorological Data for AFPS. This paper discusses some early (summer 1994) ideas about interpolation - automatic generation of grids of weather elements needed for text generation but missing from the times provided by numerical forecast models.
